thanks! i'm sure my friends will have some suggestions, but i thought i'd get as much info as i could.

1. we'll be there for a week
2. indian and thai are high on our list, but we're looking for anyplace that is really good (with vegetarian options)
3. very adventurous
4. i think we'll look for cheaper lunch spots and spend a little more on dinners. we'll also be staying part of the time with friends, so that may allow us to have a few cheap meals...which will let us hit some good dinners.
5-6. for half the week we're staying with a friend in Queens. we'll spend time visiting friends in the bronx and brooklyn as well. for the latter part of the week we'll be in manhattan-i think our place is in or near korea town. (E. 30th St.) but we're looking to explore.

completely agree with you bro.  I find it a little upsetting that the first reaction that a lot of asians are having about this incident isn't a sense of grief but rather indignation at the media's portrayal of South Koreans.  Yeah, it may have been a little inappropriate at times but if that's the one thing you care about after hearing about the tragedy then something's not right.
